Passion for Perfumes

Our passion for perfume began in childhood. Founder Jessica Wakeheart grew up surrounded by her mother’s vast perfume collection. She loved smelling the different scents and seeing the ornate glass bottles lined up on the vanity. Jessica would often spray a mist of perfume as she danced and twirled around the house. Those sweet memories sparked a lifelong love of fragrance.

After studying chemistry and fragrance formulation, Jessica worked for years as a perfumer with a major beauty brand. She honed her skills composing layered scents that evoke emotion and memories. However, Jessica dreamt of channeling her creativity into her own perfume house. She wanted the freedom to craft bespoke fragrances inspired by cherished moments.

In 2015, Jessica left her job to launch Wakeheart Perfume. She converted her home studio into a perfumery where she hand-blends fine essential oils and essences. Jessica takes inspiration from places, people, art, and her own recollections to produce signature scents. Whether it’s a summer vacation, a beloved friend, or quiet mornings with tea, Jessica translates treasured experiences into luxurious perfumes.

Our Perfume Creation Process

Every Wakeheart perfume begins as an idea inspired by Jessica’s life and travels. She keeps detailed scent journals describing aromas and linking them to memories. These become the springboard for perfume concepts.

Jessica then researches and sources the highest quality essential oils, absolutes, tinctures and other pure ingredients. She obtains rare and exquisite essences from around the world. Jessica also forages in nature for botanical elements like leaves, buds, and flower petals.

In her home studio, Jessica carefully weighs out each component of the fragrance formula. She begins blending oils and infusions in tiny batches, taking detailed notes. It can take up to 50 trial modulations before arriving at the perfect balance.

Once Jessica completes the formula, she dilutes it with the highest grade perfumer’s alcohol. After resting to allow full diffusion, each perfume is filtered, bottled, packaged, and prepared for you to experience. We take great pride in this artisanal process that transforms feelings into fragrance.

• Bohême – Recall carefree days in the city with this aromatic chypre blending bergamot, pink peppercorn, peach, and patchouli.
• Noctuelle – A mysterious white floral scent for evenings out, with ylang ylang, vanilla, orchid, and cedarwood.
• Thé Noir – An elegant blend celebrating Jessica’s beloved morning tea ritual, with black tea, lemon, clove, and honey.

Our Natural Aromatherapy Candles

In addition to perfumes, we craft a signature collection of soy wax candles. Our candles are hand-poured in small batches using premium ingredients. We use pure essential oils and natural plant-based waxes to create an exceptional burn and true aroma diffusion.

Wakeheart candles provide a sublime aromatic experience as well as gentle healing benefits. Our essential oil blends promote relaxation, energy, focus, and more. Candle options include:

• Mediterranean Fig – An earthy blend of fig, basil, and cedarwood to aid stress relief.
• Bright Bergamot + Vetiver – Uplifting and centering with notes of bergamot, vetiver, and black pepper.

At Wakeheart, we never compromise on quality. We source rare, exquisite essential oils to capture nuanced authentic fragrance profiles. Our perfume bottles are Italian art glass to protect the integrity of scents.

Our soy candle waxes are highly refined and lead-free for clean aroma diffusion and an even burn. All products are proudly made in Italy at our perfumery, then shipped worldwide post-production.
